Victoria Dunbar, Florida Institute of Technology, Assistant Professor, Division Director COA, Deputy Executive Director of Flight Ops
Dr. Victoria Dunbar has worked for FIT since 2010 as a faculty member in the College of Aeronautics. She has served as the Division Director for the College of Aeronautics for the past three years. She is responsible for managing the COA’s undergraduate curriculum, as well as managing the 20 faculty members of COA. She additionally manages the COA’s Panama degree program, in which there are 150 registered students. She also recently became the Deputy Executive Director of Flight Operations at FIT Aviation LLC. There she oversees a fleet of 42 aircraft, over 30 flight instructors and over 200 pilots.
Prior to teaching at Florida Tech, Victoria was a faculty member at Indiana State University in their College of Technology. Before entering academia, she managed an FBO and one of the largest flight schools in the state of Indiana. Her flight school was the first in the state of Indiana to be become a Cirrus Certified Training Center, and they were a Cirrus Certified Maintenance Center as well. In 2009 she won the Collegiate Division of the Air Race Classic and came in 2nd overall. She has over 2500 flight hours, most of it dual given. She has her CFI, CFII, and MEI.
Victoria earned both her B.S. in Professional Aviation Flight Technology and her M.S. in Human Resource Development degrees from Indiana State University, and her PhD in Aviation Sciences from Florida Institute of Technology.
She lives on Merritt Island with her husband Dennis and their two sons Daniel and Dustin.
